Multi Metals has worked with a power substation construction company to establish a highly-reliable supply operation for crucial aluminium materials.
The client requires a number of different aluminium sections for its installations, ranging from small flat bars to heavy channel sections in a variety of sizes.
All the sections have to be cut to size, with many mitre cut or compound mitre cut, and then delivered in kit form to premises or site as required in accordance with our CE approval.
Any delays in the supply of the aluminium sections would cause costly hold ups on site, so it was essential that the Multi Metals team developed a model that the customer could rely on. Our solution involved:
The nature of our customer’s business is project driven, so very limited forecasting information is available, but our ability to hold the full range of materials it uses gives them confidence that we will deliver the right kits to the site every time to allow projects to progress as planned.
Having a fixed-price structure in place also enables the client to forward plan without risk of variance.
